24-hour window

The period, counted from the person’s last message, in which the account can reply freely in the DMs.

What is 24-hour window?

The 24-hour window is Meta’s rule for messaging on Instagram and Messenger: after a person sends a message, the account has 24 hours to reply with any content. Once the period has passed, it can only message people who opted in, under specific conditions. Every new message from the person reopens the window. The rule exists to stop accounts from sending unsolicited messages and is the reason opt-in is part of any serious DM flow.

In Murify

Murify’s automations reply within the window, because they are triggered by the person’s message or comment. Broadcasts go only to people who opted in.
