What is Story mention?
A story mention is when another person tags your account in their story, usually showing the product, the place or the service. It is spontaneous social proof, arrives as a DM notification and can be reposted to the brand’s story with one tap. It is also a conversation trigger: thank them, reply and, when it makes sense, offer something to whoever mentioned you. The mention expires with the story, in 24 hours, so whoever manages the account has to see it in time, which is hard without a unified inbox.
