Visual hierarchy

The order in which the eye reads the slide: what is bigger, more contrasted and higher up is read first.

What is Visual hierarchy?

Visual hierarchy is the arrangement of size, weight, color and position that determines the reading order of a piece. On a social media slide, the eye goes first to the largest and most contrasted element, then to the second, and stops reading when everything looks the same. A slide with clear hierarchy has a large title, smaller supporting text and a discreet detail, such as the slide number and the logo. Without hierarchy, three sentences of the same size compete for attention and none gets read.

In Murify

Murify’s templates define the hierarchy of each slide, title, supporting text and logo, and the script’s text is distributed into those roles, with the brand kit’s fonts and colors.
