Safe zone

The area of a story or Reel the app’s interface does not cover: outside it, text ends up behind buttons and the caption.

What is Safe zone?

The safe zone is the region of the 9:16 frame where content can sit without being covered by Instagram’s or TikTok’s interface: the progress bar and account name at the top, the caption, the like and comment buttons and the reply box at the bottom and along the right edge. In practice, you leave about 250 pixels free at the top and 350 at the bottom on a 1080 by 1920 screen, and avoid the right strip. Text and logo outside the safe zone are the most common cause of unreadable stories, and the mistake only shows after publishing.

In Murify

Murify’s 9:16 templates keep text and logo inside the safe zone, rebuilding the layout instead of stretching the 4:5, and the preview shows the story as it goes out.
