Open loop

A question or promise raised at the start and only resolved at the end, to hold the person until then.

What is Open loop?

An open loop is the technique of creating a curiosity gap: presenting a question, a number or a promise at the start and delaying the answer to the end. "The third mistake is the most common" on the cover makes the person swipe to the third slide; "at the end I will tell you what happened" holds the video to the last second. It works because the brain wants to close what was left open. The limit is honesty: if the answer does not live up to the promise, the next opening will be ignored.

In Murify

Murify’s script puts the hook on the first slide and the resolution on the following ones, with the call to action on the last, and you adjust the text of each slide before generating the design.
